As Midsummer’s night approaches, NONSUCH SINGERS (‘one of London’s best chamber choirs’ – The Times) with conductor Tom Bullard (former musical director of the Swingle Singers) return to St James’, Sussex Gardens, for an evening of enchanting song. Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I and medieval France all play a role in a sumptuous feast of Songs for a Summer’s Evening, a rich programme featuring works by Claude Debussy, Benjamin Britten, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Judith Weir, Eric Whitacre and Roderick Williams, who has been commissioned to write a work for the Coronation of King Charles III.
